1. Educate your team
Your agency will have briefed your communications and marketing teams on how to carry the new brand through your communications, but don’t stop there.
Your whole organisation needs to understand what has changed, why it has changed and what it means for them.
Give people the tools and confidence to use the brand in their day-to-day work. Share the thinking behind the brand, introduce the new identity internally, provide clear guidelines and show people what good application looks like in practice.
The more your colleagues understand the brand, the more likely they are to champion it and the more consistently it will show up across the organisation.
Because a brand only creates value when it lives consistently across every interaction, communication and experience.
2. Embrace your new look across every touchpoint
A new brand shouldn’t just mean a new logo on your website.
Take the opportunity to look at every place your organisation shows up — from your website, social media and advertising to presentations, reports, signage, email templates, proposals, customer communications and physical environments.
Consistency builds recognition. And when people experience the same brand wherever they encounter you, it builds familiarity, trust and confidence.
Start by identifying your most important touchpoints and make sure the new brand is properly embedded across them. Don’t be tempted to keep using old materials simply because they’re already there. Every piece of communication is an opportunity to reinforce the brand.
3. Nominate a Brand Guardian
Brand building is everyone’s responsibility. But clear ownership is essential.
Nominate a person or team to take responsibility for overseeing the brand. Their role isn’t to police every piece of communication, but to keep the brand front of mind, support teams when they need guidance and ensure the brand remains consistent as it evolves.
They can also periodically review how the brand is being used across the organisation and identify where things are starting to drift.
This is particularly important as your organisation changes. New people join, new campaigns launch, new services develop and new channels emerge. Your brand needs to evolve with you, without losing the clarity and consistency you’ve worked to establish.
A brand launch is just the beginning
A successful brand isn’t built on launch day.
It’s built every day after that, through the decisions your people make, the experiences you create and the way you consistently show up in the world.
So give your team the understanding to champion it, make sure it lives across every important touchpoint, and give someone clear responsibility for protecting and evolving it.
And if you’re wondering whether your brand has started to drift, we’re happy to take a look.
We can sit down with you, review how your brand is being used across the organisation and provide practical direction on where to strengthen, refine or realign it.
Your brand has already had the big launch. Now let’s make sure it lasts.
